Discus and support Windows 11, version 23H2 Fails to Install: Error Code 0x80073701 in Windows 10 Gaming to solve the problem; I've repeatedly tried downloading and installing the update however it fails every time.     Windows 11, version 23H2 Fails to Install: Error Code 0x80073701


    I've repeatedly tried downloading and installing the update however it fails every time. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Update error 0x80073701

    Running Window 11 Professional.

    I've tried several times, but the latest Windows 11 update
    (KB5014668) keeps failing with error 0x80073701.

    A web site suggested I try clean booting. I tried it. It didn't help.

    So I'm writing to ask if anyone has any suggestions to fix that
    inability to update error 0x80073701 .

    This worked! I had tried doing an In-Place upgrade before the other steps you have included here .. and it also failed. But after turning on BITS and Windows Update via Services ... it has finally worked! There are literally hundreds of websites and youtube videos on how to fix this problem (Windows 11 KB5014697 not installing with error 0x80073701) ... and this finally worked. Thank you JohnDeV!

    Windows 11 refuses to update - Install error - 0x80073701

    22H2 is the latest version. Installing the 22H2 update should automatically resolve the CBS error 0x80073701.

    • Download the Windows 11 22H2 ISO
    • Double-click the ISO to mount it to a drive letter.
    • Run Setup.exe and complete the upgrade process.

    Your apps, settings, and data will be retained by default during the in-place upgrade.
