I have seen this thread before with answers both here and other websites, but ALL of the solutions seem to have no affect for me. I am a profession audio integrator by trade and this is my own personal workstation. I have disabled 'Allow devices to exclusive control of this device', disabled all other audio hardware that isn't being used, disabled audio enhancements, updated and re-installed the audio drivers, disabled spatial audio, and the issue still occurs. It happens even when no audio is playing. The volume level indicator will randomly show up at the bottom of my screen and tick up/d

    :)

    Windows 10 keeps muting Winamp

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

The issue could possibly be due to Winamp involuntarily controlling volume by itself. I suggest you to try the steps listed below and check if it works:

    • Open Winamp Preferences window and select
      Output.
    • On the right pane, select Nullsoft waveOut plug-in
      and choose Configure.
    • At Volume Control, uncheck
      Enable.

    • Save the changes, and exit Winamp.
    • Restart Winamp, raise the volume now to see if it still resets.

If the issue persists, as it is related to Winamp, I suggest you to post your query in the
    Winamp forums.

    Hope it helps.

    Regards,

Failed to Create Volume Snapshot Macrium Error 0x8004230f VSS Error

    Hi, you might try this:
Microsoft Volume Shadow Copy (VSS) Troubleshooting - Microsoft Volume Shadow Copy (VSS) Troubleshooting

or the free cautious repair tool
    Tweaking.com - Windows Repair Free/Pro
    - observing the steps and using only the relevant repairs

    More:
How to Fix VSS Errors Step-by-Step

Otherwise I suggest- assuming your disk and file system are sound-
an in-place upgrade repair install which keeps all progs, data and most settings

You need an iso of the same base language and build- freely downloadable.
