windows 11 when waking from sleep and changing app with the mouse a music sound comes up.

When I wake up my PC running Windows 11 Pro V. 22H2 with keyboard or mouse a music sound comes up it also happens when changing apps. Tried the sound troubleshooter but did not find any problems. Also tried the Personalization->Themes ->Sound and searched for the music sound but did not find it in the several features and programs listed. Is there any way to try to locate and identify that sound so as to either stop it or delete it or even change it?

    :)

  2. wake from sleep issue in windows 10

    Hi,

Thank you for posting your reply. Apologize for the delay in response.

I suggest you to check which devices are configured to wake up the computer from sleep by following the steps below:

    • Right click on Start icon and select Command Prompt (Admin).
    • Type the command line below:
    Powercfg /devicequery wake_armed

    3. Check if the devices (Keyboard, Mouse, Ethernet cable) are listed.

If the system is not going to sleep and going to Hybernate, the only option to wake up is to press the Power button.

    Hope the information is helpful.

Mouse won't wake up computer from sleep.

When my computer goes to sleep, power light is blinking on the computer so perhaps it's deep sleep, moving the USB attached mouse does not wake it up.
Allow mouse to wake is enabled:

This used to work, even with 2004 but somewhere with one of their updates it stopped working. I tried a new mouse, same problem. Any suggestions?

Yes, I've done many Google searches and looked at lots of responses but there really is nothing more than the above as far as a suggested fix.

I've uninstalled the mouse from Device Manager then rebooted, no help.

USB attached keyboard works okay and wakes the computer.

Mouse wakes Windows 10 from sleep despite disallowed

I am experiencing an intriguing wake-from-sleep issue on my Windows 10 PC.

    Relevant system configuration:

    - ASUSTeK P8H77-I motherboard, Intel Core i3 processor (Ivy Bridge), BIOS v1102 (latest)

    - Windows 10 22H2, fully patched (including optional driver updates), Hyper-V enabled

    - Microsoft Pro Intellimouse (wired)

    - Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center installed

I have cleared the 'Allow this device to wake the computer' checkbox for the mouse so that my cats cannot accidentally wake the computer by pushing the mouse.

When I put the PC to sleep using the Sleep option in the menu or by pressing the sleep button on the keyboard, either of the following happens:

    1. The computer goes to sleep but the Intellimouse tail light stays on. In this case the computer does not wake from sleep when I move the mouse.
    2. The computer goes to sleep and the Intellimouse tail light is switched off. In this case the computer wakes from sleep when I move the mouse even though I have disallowed this.
#1 is the intended behavior (though it is curious that the mouse tail light stays on). Uninstalling Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center does not make any difference. There are no error or warning messages in the Windows event log.

Has anyone observed behavior #2 and found a solution?

    Regards,

    -Roger
