[Windows 11] Why duplicate settings: A Power Mode in Settings app and a Power Plan Power...

    1. What is the purpose of having these two power management selections separately? Is there a guidance article that Microsoft put out? 2. How does one, customize the Power Modes selectable from the Setting App? 3. Where should one now control the display off, sleep, and hibernation timers as well as lid closure control? Since Windows XX we had this Power Options in Control Panel unchanged and we know how it works. Bonus question: Did anyone who work for Mr. Satya Nadella quality control this Windows release and not realize this is going to be confusing? It feels like Microsoft still unable to

    Power plan?

Upon checking, it seems that there's nothing wrong with your system. It is usual that you have to double-click your mouse before your monitor wakes up.

For the meantime, we suggest changing the power plan by following the steps below:

    • Press Windows key + S.
    • Type in Power Settings.
    • On the pop-up window, choose Additional power settings.
    • Select High performance.

After changing the power plan, we suggest that you monitor the changes made and check if that will work for you.

Get back to us if you need further help.

  3. Power Mode vs power plan in Windows 11

    Hi,

I'm using windows 11 and I'm enjoying it so far. There is however one thing that's confusing me and that's the 2 different options to change power configurations in the settings menu and the control panel. At first, i thought they both controls the same thing, but after a closer look at power in the settings menu, I've noticed that I cannot change "power mode" if i have selected "High performance" as active power plan in classic control panel.

If i choose "balanced" as power plan in classic control panel, then i can suddenly choose between "Best power efficiency", "Balanced" and "Best performance" in power mode in settings.

What's the difference? And what power plan is recommended for me as a gamer? I'm using a desktop PC.

    Best regards
