  1. Windows 11 will not recognize Viewsonic PA503W Projector Native display shows up as non PNP...

I have a Win 11 PC that will not recognize a Viewsonic PA503W Projector's native display. It shows up as non PNP Monitor and I cannot change the resolution in Display Settings because it is greyed out. There are no drivers for this projector to install. The website does not have any listed and I have search exhaustedly. The only way I can get it to display correct is to go to Device Manager and uninstall the Non PNP Monitor Device and then turn the computer off and then turn on the projector. This issue never happened before until I had to swap out the HDMI cable. It is the same kind as origin

    :)

  2. ASUS VG278H showing as Generic Non-PnP Monitor. Windows 10

As per title my ASUS VG278H is showing as Generic Non-PnP Monitor (as shown in device manager), or Digital Display (as shown in Nvidia Control Panel).

The ASUS is my secondary display. Has been working fine for years. Then today I fire up a game, my pc crashes, and when I restart, it now doesn't recognise the display.

    Steps I've taken so far:

    1. restart pc
    2. device manager > uninstall generic display > restart pc
    3. update gpu driver > restart pc
    4. update display driver > restart pc
    5. update windows > restart pc

    All to no effect.

    Any advice? Thanks in advance!

  3. Windows11 no audio via HDMI to the 5.1 speakers as soon as projector is ON - working ok on Windows 7 and 10.

    Hi. Thanks for answering.

I've spent several hours going step by step through your suggestions. There is no positive effect. What i achived is adding new Intel driver for the graphics instead of one proveded by the Dell.

It seems that windows 11 is behaving differently from win7 and 10 in this particular case. As soon as i plug the laptop to the sony "home theater" via HDMI, SONY it is recognized by the windows 11 system. Proper HD Audio device for Display Audio pops up on the device manager list and there is SONY AVAMP device in audio output list as it shoud be (see below).

BUT as soon as i start up EPSON projector connected to the SONY, HD Audio device for Display Audio disaperas from the device manager list and so audio output device. In such case laptop is starting to play audio via internal speakers (realtek AUDIO), video is being transmited via Sony to the Epson as expected.

Projector does not have internal speakers. It is like windows 11 is getting by PnP or something info that projector cannot be target for audio and compleatly disregard the fact that there is 5.1 audio system inbetween.

Once again. It is working perfectly on windows 10 for example or windows 7. I have never had anny issues with this setup till windows 11.

    Any suggestions?

Viewsonic monitor compatibility with Windows 10

    Hi Mark,

Welcome to Microsoft Community and thank you for your interest in Windows 10.

    I will definitely assist you.

Let's try simple steps and check if it helps in resolving the issue.
I would suggest you try updating Display driver from Device Manager manually and check if it helps. Try the below steps:

    • Press (Windows key + X) and click on “Device Manager”.

    • Click and expand “Display Adaptor”.

    • Right click on the device driver and select
      update.

    • Once update is done, restart the computer.
If the issue still persist, I would recommend you to contact Viewsonic
VA2231WM-LED manufacturer and check if they have the latest driver which is compatible with Windows 10. If the latest driver is not available for Windows 10 you can buy a new monitor which is compatible with Windows 10.

Visit the below link for Connect a second monitor or projector

Hope it helps. If you need further assistance with Windows, let us know and will be glad to help.
