Windows 10: Windows 11 will scroll in on random apps

Im using the operating system Windows 11 and I've recently noticed that on some apps its randomly scrolling in endlessly. For example some apps are paint 3d, photos and even settings wont let me scroll down out up. Ive been trying to fix this problem for days and its driving me crazy. Is there any fix to this?

• Have you made any recent changes prior to this issue?
• What troubleshooting steps have you done so far aside from increasing the no. of lines to scroll under Mouse settings to 50?

Random Scrolling Issues with Edge and Other Universal Apps


I'm encountering a number of random scrolling issues within Edge and other Universal/Modern/Store apps. When scrolling a web page, the page gets "stuck" and won't move within the browser window. Edge itself remains responsive - I can reload the page, or close its tab. And other tabs remain unaffected. Also, links on the page itself still work. I can actually interact with the portion of the page that's visible, just not scroll it in any direction. Reloading the page doesn't fix it, but if I close the tab and reopen it, then load the page again, it works (happened just this morning on "Dilbert.com" when viewing one of Scott Adams' blog entries).

I've noticed this behavior in at least one other app: Readiy (an RSS reader app). In the main "All Items" view, the list of articles will often become "stuck," much like a web page in Edge. I've also noticed the behavior occurs more often when using the touchpad in the Type Cover of my Surface.

Note: I'm running the Insider Preview build 10532 on a Surface 3 (not Pro) w/4GB RAM.

Anyone encountering anything similar?

scrolling bad

New event. When placing cursor over a list or row of columns, even the volume bar scrolling is automatic and proceeds to one end of the series and stops. The scrolling also stops when I move the cursor away from the list but am unable to select anything in the list. Not all the possible lists are effected. Other sites have recommended mouse/kb fixes. Have tried all those but the phenomena persists. Have not had any known updates recently and don't have a restore point to try. Any other suggestions? W10Pro 1903
