Windows 10: Windows 11 - Windows do not go full screen when auto-hide taskbar is enabled

On Windows 11 when you have auto-hide taskbar enabled... If you maximize a window... the window will never maximize. You always see the area where the taskbar would normally be when it is not hidden. Previous versions of windows the window would maximize to the size of the screen when auto-hide taskbar is enabled.

I understand your concern about auto-hiding Taskbar on Windows 10.

This issue might have occurred due to Taskbar settings, try the below and check if it helps.

Steps to enable auto-hide Taskbar:

• Right click in the empty space on the Taskbar, click on
  Properties,
• Under Taskbar tab, check mark the Auto-hide the Taskbar option, click on
  Apply and Ok.

I know how to 'auto-hide'!

IT IS NOT WORKING - the frustrating thing is that this is a known problem and is not being addressed. It may appear to be a small matter but it is not. Wherever the taskbar is situated (top, bottom, either side) it covers part of the screen and is TOTALLY
annoying!!!!!!!

PLEASE FIX IT and help us all.

 

Auto hide taskbar will not reappear if window is active in full screen - Windows 11

For as long as I've had Windows 11, I cannot get the taskbar to work properly with auto hide enabled. It will automatically hide properly.. if I'm viewing my desktop, it will reappear when I hover over the bottom of the screen. If I have other windows active, but they are not full screen auto hide still works as it should. But if I have any window active in full screen, the taskbar will not ever reappear.

The only way to get the taskbar to appear with a full screen window active, is to hit the Windows key on my keyboard.
