Windows 10: Windows 11 Windows Explorer is Causing the Taskbar to just turn black and restarting it...

The Windows Explorer in my Dell XPS was slow to load and was giving error messages. To try to resolve the issue I restarted my computer as it had worked previously. Instead, once the computer had rebooted my taskbar was gone and was just replace with a blackbar. I tried restarting one more time and the result was the same except the taskbar was gone. Hovering the cursor over where it usually is results in a loading cursor and clicking in the area freezes my computer for a few minutes.Some online forums said to restart explorer.exe from the Task Manager which I tried without much luck. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”

Windows Explorer Replacement?

are you running IE7? if not that wouold be my first suggestion,upgrade to ie7 that can fix some stability issues with windows explorer

Try Ctrl+Esc.

If Recycle Bin is the only icon you can see, open it, from the explorer window navigate to Control Panel and find Taskbar settings there.
