  1. Windows 11 - Windows Explorer suddenly taking up a lot of RAM, slowing my entire computer down

I'm on an Acer Nitro 5 AN515-44 running Windows 11, the OS is all updated and stuff, the laptop recently went through an OS reset and since then it felt a lot more sluggish for some reason, turns out Windows Explorer keeps taking a lot of my memory out of nowhere and slowing down the computer, restarting it seems to fix it and put my laptop on full speed again but the app constantly reemerging and use my memory all over again and there seems to be no permanent fix

  2. Computer is slow after Windows 11 22H2 update

    Hi~

I installed the new Windows 11 update (22H2?) this morning and suddenly my computer is running super slowly. Any browser I use is slow, and videos take very long to load. And many programs and even file explorer suddenly freeze for several moments. My wifi also randomly stopped for a few seconds.

My laptop was running just fine until today's update and now it's frustratingly slow and glitchy. Any suggestions? Or is it possible to uninstall the update?

    Thanks!

    - aj

Windows 11 - Windows Explorer suddenly taking up a lot of RAM, slowing my entire computer down

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
