Windows 10: Windows 11 Wireless Xbox Adapter

Ever since I updated my PC to windows 11. My wireless xbox controller adapter designed for xbox one controllers will not work.Lights on device and controllers will blink but they controllers will not sync. Ironically the xbox 360 wireless adapter that I also own works fine. But who wants to play with a 360 controller over xbox one?It worked fine on windows 10. What is the work around?
