Windows 10: Windows 11 without secure boot.

Hello, I recently decided I wanted to upgrade to windows 11 after hearing about the new changes and realised that my computer does have secure boot but after enabling it on my Dell computer, It says “No drive to boot to” and I must force power off my computer, Go into BIOS and disable it. Did I do something wrong? I also tried it on my friends Hewlet Packard computer, Has Secure Boot too and had the same issue.I have tried the appraisers.dll trick and have done the regedit tweaks “BypassSecureBootCheck” set to 1 but all of my attempts failed. Any help please?

Here is a statement from a Kernal Developer at Red Hat:

I'm not sure this exploits the legacy BIOS but rather it exploits the legacy boot method on MBR drives, injecting a signed key before the OS boots, which you are correct in that it has nothing to do with Windows 8. And the simplest fix would just be to require boot drives use GPT when Secure Boot is enabled in UEFI.

So Linux is switching to secure boot also? Or they have to because of UEFI?

In system information it tells me secure boot state is off and it says I’m in Legacy bios already.

My bios is already in UEFI according to the system information page on Windows.

Which of these statements above from your last two posts is correct concerning UEFI or Legacy Mode?


If System information says UEFI Mode then I gave you dozens of steps to try to get Secure Boot and TPM started. Please work through those steps now and report back results.
