    Greetings.


    I've been trying to update a computer for my client for months now, and I'm constantly getting error codes.


    0xC1900101 - 0x30018

    I have followed all online steps to resolve this, including but not limited to...


    sfc checks

    DISM checks


    Unplugging all external drives and usb devices... etc etc...


    Nothing is working, and anyone suggesting an CLEAN INSTALL does not understand how much data, information, and software my client has installed. That is NOT A GOOD SOLUTION.

    At this point, I want to DISABLE the update, completely. Every night her computer tries the update again, fails, and rolls back. It takes her an hour of this nonsense before she can even use her computer.


    How do I disable the update?


    And how can MS let this happen? I'm finding tons of posts about this very problem, and EVERY TIME some person suggests a fresh install. Is that your only solution? The richest software company in the world can't put out a good update?

    Same here, have tried it at least three times to no avail. Installation gives a BSOD after second reboot at 32% of installation (6% of apps and drivers). It tries to resurrect the installation, fails, and rolls back to original OS, Windows 7 Ultimate, in my case. On return to W7 it gives the dreaded error code 0xc1900101-0x30018. Will be following this thread to see if any possible solution arises.

    Edit: During one of my attempts, I unplugged the USB drive and the Wifi USB, this did not help unfortunately.
