Windows 10: Windows 1803 unable to upgrade to anything

Hey all,

I've recently tried to install the new Edge but the installer was blocked until I could install all the latest updates. This is when the problems started. I've always noticed that Windows updates were failing and rolling back on restarts but I never really paid real attention to it. Apparently I'm 2 years of updates behind schedule as I just discovered I'm only on 1803 while it's currently 2004.

Anyway, I spend a good portion of the past 2 days trying to force the update, trying many of the common fixes, SFC/DISM etc. which obviously didn't work.

Then I tried to update it manually from the ISOs - I tried 2004 then 1909, 1903, 1809 in that order. Obviously didn't work either. Was getting stuck at "we're having difficulty determining if your PC can run Windows 10".

Cue loads of Googling again, checked if it was the Active partition not issue as it was GPT and there is a System partition. Totally lost at what to do next so I'm just attaching the logs here hoping someone can help.

Unable to adjust screen brightness after Windows 10 Pro 1803 upgrade

I have an old Lenovo T510 laptop running Windows 10 Pro. Yes, I know, it doesn't officially support Windows 10. But I've been running Window 10 Pro on it happily and reliably for quite some time.... Until just now when I upgraded to version 1803.

Right after the upgrade I noticed my screen was very bright. I found that I am unable to adjust it at all using the keyboard brightness controls or the control panel. It's always at 100% bright even though the brightness control slider goes where ever I tell it. I've searched and tried some of the suggestions about uninstalling the driver and reinstalling, etc, but nothing has worked. I'd say the driver has a compatibility issue, but it was working just fine before 1803.

Does anyone have any suggestions on things to try before I take my chances on a roll-back of the 1803 upgrade?

 

Unable to upgrade from 1803 to 1903 - Error 0x8007001F - 0x2006

Sorry for the slow response, i've been without internet for a while! I have tried doing an in-place upgrade as you suggested below, but I am still met with the same error when trying to install it. See below:





I think i'm going to try messaging JakeWell and see if he can help me attempt the technical route.

Unable to update Windows 10 Pro version 1709 to 1803

Have made several attempts to update Windows 10 version 1709 to the latest version 1803 and have not been successful.

I've done the following per some suggestions found online:

• Updated drivers
• Ran the Trouble Shooter for Windows 10 (Errors found were shown to be "Fixed" per the tool)
• Unplugged the printer

Although not at every attempt, I have received the following errors:

• 0xc1900101
• 0x80070643

Can someone please advise me as to what the errors are and provide me with the steps to update Windows.
