Windows 10: Windows 1903 - File / Open / Browse issues (Office 365)

I have been in discussion with a Microsoft agent over on the Office 365 forum, and have been directed over here regarding this issue.

Here is a brief summary:


Issue description:

There is a 5-30 seconds delay when using File/Open/Browse in Office 365 1902, Win 10 1903 on our workstations. While the same version of Office 365 is normal on Win 10 1803 workstations.


Environment:

Win 10 1903.

Office 365 1902


Troubleshooting steps completed:

1. Updated Office 365 to 1909, didn't solve the issue

2. Ran Office in safe mode, the same issue

3. Disconnected from the Network and tried again, the same issue.


Assessment:

The issue is highly likely related to Win 10 1903 operation system because

1. The issue affects machines with Win 10 1903, but doesn't affect the same spec of machines with Win 10 1803

2. The issue persists after updating Office and opening Office in safe mode.

Windows 10 Office 365 cannot open files from: recent file list


OK, the files are not corrupt.

I've had same kind of issue a few times, luckily not too often, and the only thing I have found to fix it has been to clear the list of recent files (right click and select Clear unpinned Documents):








When done, open the documents browsing to them (Open Other Documents ) and let the list be repopulated:

Thanks for the tip! I followed all above steps.

So far I can open files from the Recent files list when I enter Word itself, however I still am unable to open any documents using the Word icon pinned to the taskbar:

Cortana & Office 365 Integration

We are trying to integrate Cortana with our Office 365 subscription, but it never works. Here are the steps we have done:

• Turned on Cortona in the Office 365 Admin portal
• We are using Windows 10 1703 – connected Office 365 service to Cortana

Did the same on windows 10 mobile with no luck, Cortana says its connected to Office 365, but sees no data and we are getting zero errors

We went rough office 365 support first and tried all fo their suggestions, they kicked us over to Windows support which is currently closed.

We are on v1703 with all updates in place, it does not work on Windows 10 desktop or mobile

any ideas? I can give you all steps 365 support had us run through if that will be helpful
