Windows 10: Windows 1903 update, will no longer resume from sleep without crashing.

My Dell 8930XPS will no longer resume properly from Sleep after the 1903 update. It tries to wake up, the screen remains black, and then it will either reboot on its own or I have to hold down the power button to force a reboot. Event log shows this every time after a reboot:


The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x000000a0 (0x0000000000000608, 0xffffe18ec44224e8, 0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000000). A dump was saved in: C:\WINDOWS\MEMORY.DMP. Report Id: 5eabe47e-6010-4d75-b715-f395a9c8d1ba.

The dump file is over 9GB in size. This is a well equipped PC, with a Core i7-8700K, 64GB of ram, 1TB Samsung M.2 Pro SSD, a NVidia 1070 graphics card, etc. It has been rock solid since purchase last Thanksgiving until the 1903 update. Now it simply cannot wake up from Sleep at all.

Win7 Pro Laptop crashes when resumes from sleep

Ok almost positive it related to the wifi card/driver. If I disable it in the device manager my laptop sleeps and resumes just fine.

So I guess first step would to be try to find a different driver and if that doesnt work I guess I can replace it. Used mini pci-e wifi cards are pretty cheap.

 

Crash on resume from sleep after Anniversary Update - atikmpag.sys

I have the same issue too! I have an AMD Radeon HD 7400M series card in my laptop which was flawless before the Anniversary update with resuming from sleep. However since the update it will crash frequently when trying to resume.

I too use sleep alot. I don't want to have to keep this machine on permanently!!!

Please fix Microsoft / AMD!

yes its working absolutely fine except for resuming from sleep or hibernation. i have them all updated... just the ati drivers are the latest whql ones, cause well, their non whql were already a pita so i just stuck with these.
