Windows 10: Windows 19041.867 reset my settings

When I turned on my computer today all of my system settings, personalizations, apps are reset. I have to re-login to every app on my computer and redo all of my organization of the start menu.

Is there any way to get my settings back or do I have to do it the hard way

Ok, followed the steps in the directions you linked but I couldn't see how step 4 in red was done even after I maximized my screen to try to read the screen shot in red for step 4. It just isn't easy to read to see what is being done.

How to factory reset Cisco 1700 Router

Hopefully I can help you here....its a very common thing to happen.


First, I take it you dont know the passwords for console access or telnet/ssh?

I will assume that these devices belong to you.

step 1. Plug a cisco console cable into a serial port on your pc
step 2. Plug other end into Cisco console port
step 3. Using hyperterm or putty or similar connect to the serial port
step 4. boot router, and make sure you clearly can see the output (this confirms you have good serial comms)
step 5. if this fails, adjust the comm port settings (9600, 8,1,n are the default)
step 6. now you have to do the only hard part...send the break command:

Break command list: Break Commands

Go down the list and match your OS and SW and try the sequence suggested.

If this fails several times do what I do: Install putty (free) and then to send a break so you can get into rommom just hit "ctrl-a b".

 

KB5000802 CU Windows 10 v2004 build 19041.867 and v20H2 19042.867 Win Update

I did an in-place once before that worked successfully over two years ago. After just reading Brink's tutorial, I can say for certain I don't remember using the recommended step downloading an ISO. I seem to recall that I used the media creation tool which doesn't require mounting an ISO.
I meet the OS build requirement. I may not post back with my fail or success result until March 18th which will be tomorrow's date, here in the U.S
