  1. Windows 1909 running very sluggish apparently due to Power Service

I upgraded to version 1909 last week and the system ran fine until this morning when it started running very sluggish. I tried running Malwarebytes, but it spent 35 minutes looking for updates before I terminated it. Most programs take minutes to start up. MS Visual Studio takes a few minutes to start. I had problems with the Power Service previously causing my CPU and fans to race when the service was running in Windows build 1903. I figured I would look at the Power Service first and when I disabled it, the sluggishness was gone. I'm going to do some additional testing to verify this, but it looks like the Power Service is the cause of the problem. I will post again after more definitive testing. Anyone else having similar problems?

    :)

  2. Windows 10 1909 Causes Secondary Hard Drive to not be Recognized

Installing the Windows 10 1909 Update causes my secondary hard drive to not be recognized.

    Steps to confirm issue:

    • Secondary drive not visible in Windows Explorer
    • Secondary drive not visible in device manager
    • Secondary drive not visible in disk manager

    Steps to replicate issue:

    • Installing 1909 update

    Steps to resolve issue:

    • Uninstall 1909 update

Since updates can only be delayed for so long, an actual fix would be appreciated.

Windows 1909 running very sluggish apparently due to Power Service

PC Sluggish After Waking From Sleep

    Thank you for the update.

"Could it be that their drivers are not compatible with my current Windows build?" - Yes, there's a possibility that's why you're experiencing some performance issue.

Another thing, some users have reported that the possible reason why their computers are sluggish is fast startup (enabled by default). We may try disabling the fast startup, then check if the issue will still occur. To do so, please follow the steps below:

    • Open Power Options.
    • Click Choose what the power buttons do.
    • Under Shutdown settings, uncheck Turn on fast startup (recommended).
    • Click Save changes.

And we also suggest checking the Processes and Performance in Task Manager if you feel your computer is sluggish.

We would appreciate an update about how it went.
