Windows 10: Windows 2004, printer does not connect

    Windows 2004, printer does not connect


    OS: Fully updated 2004 windows 10.
    Printer: HP OfficeJet 3830 All-in-One Printer

    Issue: Brand new printer, which is perfectly functional on my windows 10 laptop. Does not work on a desktop running 2004. I7 9700k, GTX 2080, 32Gb ram

    I've tried the following things:

    - Manually installed the updates which fix the printer issues microsoft had 1/2 months ago. Error when trying to install. This update is not for your computer ...
    - Network restart.
    - Printer restart.
    - Modem/router/ap restart.
    - Reset the printer.
    - Tried using the cable.
    - Cleared DNS cache on the PC and reset TCP/IP with netsh.
    - Everything else I could find online.
    - I even installed a virtual machine with VMWare on this machine and this VM prints perfectly.
    - All devices are using the latest updates.
    - Rolled back to 1909, same problem.
    - I think I've tried at least a few more thing but nothing seems to be resolving this issue.

    Any help is welcome

    Have you tried the suggestions on my initial post, in response to the original poster? If you haven't performed any troubleshooting yet, here are a couple of things you can try:

    • Power off, and then power on your printer to restart it. Wait for a while for it to be fully ready.
    • Check your printer connection. Check your printer and make sure that it’s connected to your PC network.

    If the steps didn't help, you may go through this list of suggestions to fix printer connection in Windows 10.

    The printer offline status is your printer’s way of telling you that something is wrong with the communication between your computer and your printer, so one of the first things to check is your printer’s connection with your PC. Here are a couple of things
    you can try:

    • Power off, and then power on your printer to restart it. Wait for a while for it to be fully ready.
    • Check your printer connection. Check your printer and make sure that it’s connected to your PC network.

    Aside from the above steps, I also suggest that you go through this list of suggestions to fix printer connection
    in Windows 10.

    To help you with your concern regarding the printer, let me suggest you to contact the manufacturer for the steps on how to connect your printer to your computer. Please follow the steps on how to contact the manufacturer:

    • The name of the OEM + “contact information”
    • The name of the OEM + “PC support”
