Windows 10: Windows 20H2 Update keeps getting stuck on frozen black screen with white dots after second...

I'm currently on Windows 10 1909 and I've been trying to update to 20h2 through the Update Assistant, everything is fine, it restarts and goes to the installation screen, but then around 27/28% it restarts again and at first it shows the normal boot screen with the blue Windows logo and the spinning white dots, but then the Windows logo disappears and the white dots freeze, after I hard shut down the first time it just freezes again, and on the second hard shutdown it starts undoing the changes of the update, and just brings me back to version 1909, I've been trying to do this update since January and have achieved nothing, so I would greatly appreciate if someone told me how to solve this, thank you.

Windows Anniversary Update Black Screen with White Loading Dots

I have the same problem. The update gets stuck on the black screen with white rotating dots, for hours. I have a HP6327UK desktop. I tried three times last week, to update to anniversary build. I do have a wireless Logitech keyboard, and mouse. I wonder
if that could be causing the problem.

 

Windows Anniversary Update Black Screen with White Loading Dots

I have been attempting to install the windows 10 anniversary update over the last two days.

Its for a Lenovo G500 Laptop.

Original Windows 10 upgrade (from Windows 8.1) was no problem a year ago.

Anniversary update didn't work however.

First problem was the error code 0x80070057 when the install gets to 2%.

However, this is solved on another thread by removing the LAN/WiFi connection after the files are 100 % verified, then reconnecting it when the install has been stuck on 2% for about 3 - 5 mins.

The Windows Anniversary Update then progresses normally, until near the end. The laptop reboots and a black screen with white rotating dots appears. The update hangs here.

There's nothing else to do but power off the laptop and start it again.

Once again the black screen with white rotating dots appears and the still update hangs here.

After switching the laptop off for a second time, the update cancels itself and restores the original Windows 10.

I've tried this process 3 times now (twice with WiFi and once with a network cable) and always the same result.

Any ideas how to get past this 'black loading screen' hanging problem? (without having to resort to a clean build using Media Creation Tool)

 

Windows 10 stuck on blue screen with rotating dots

When I turned on my computer today, I first received a black screen with the windows icon and the following message: "Fixing (C Stage ___, Total ____ %, ETA____". After that I was redirected to a blue screen with the white rotating dots, and have since
been stuck on that screen. I tried turning off the CPU, waiting for 20-30 seconds, then turning it on again. When I did so, I received the Dell startup screen, the black screen with the windows icon once more, and then it returned to the blue screen with the
white rotating dots. The computer was unresponsive when I pushed any buttons such as Ctrl-Alt-Del. Can a windows representative please advise me as to next steps?
