Windows 10: Windows 24h2 update has been a nightmare

Discus and support Windows 24h2 update has been a nightmare in Windows 10 Gaming to solve the problem; My hp pavilion with i5 WAS very fast opening any app. now, since that update, I especially have problems opening pdf files. what used to take 3 sec now...     Windows 24h2 update has been a nightmare


    My hp pavilion with i5 WAS very fast opening any app. now, since that update, I especially have problems opening pdf files. what used to take 3 sec now takes 30 to 45 sec. I've also lost many pic icons. Windows recently installed security kb5058411 & I lost several desktop icons. I un-installed it & they all came back. But it keeps re-installing itself over night & i loose the icons again. How do I fix this mess. Also, I'm 68 years old & don't know how to make changes in the system if that's whats needed. Again I had NO issues With This laptop until the 24h2 update a

    Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

    There are no currently listed problems resetting version 24H2 of Windows 11 and no specific steps you need to perform, are you experiencing any problems with that insider build that is causing you to perform a Windows reset?

    Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.
