Windows 10: Windows 7 32 bit application on Win 10 docker

Is it possible to create a windows 7 32 bit image and run it on the windows 10 64-bit machine using docker desktop? Do we have any official windows 7 32 bit ready docker base images?

Can any one please help.

The requirement is to run a windows 7 32 bit Visual basic application on the Windows 10 desktops. I thought of creating a Hyper-V and using Windows 7 32 bit VM… but before that I wanted to know if we can containerize this using docker.

I wonder if there is any problem for going this route with installing Win 10/64-bit on a computer that had Win 7/32-bit (without ever installing Win 10/32-bit)?
Basically I am thinking about the process described here: How to Switch From 32-bit Windows 10 to 64-bit Windows 10 while skipping the middle step, - by using Shawn's solution.

There should not be an issue doing that, as long as the computer supports 64-bit.

 

Upgrade install from Win-7 32-bit, to Win-10 64-bit Problems...?

How exactly did you upgrade from Windows 7 32-Bit to Windows 10 64-Bit? Did you buy a copy of Windows 10 or was it a direct upgrade to Windows 10?

I ask because you can not "upgrade" from Win 7 32-Bit to Win 10 64-bit. That would require a clean install of the 64-bit OS. Also, the "free upgrade" would have only gotten you Windows 7 32-bit as you'd only be eligible for the OS you'd previously had - Windows 7 Home 32-bit to Windows 10 Home 32-bit. So how'd you do the upgrade?

As for a upgrading to a new desktop you'd need to come up with a budget and preference as I could easily suggest a $3,000 dollar system.
