    Windows 7 Copy Not Recognized As Valid After Hard Drive Upgrade


    I have an OEM copy of Windows 7. I had installed it on my computer some time ago, but the old hard drive was beginning to fail, so I purchased an SSD and reinstalled it on that. But whenever I try to activate the copy with the automatic phone service it doesn't recognize my product ID as valid. I did not have this problem activating it on the old hard drive. Can anyone help me?

    Windows 10 1909 Causes Secondary Hard Drive to not be Recognized

    Installing the Windows 10 1909 Update causes my secondary hard drive to not be recognized.

    Steps to confirm issue:

    • Secondary drive not visible in Windows Explorer
    • Secondary drive not visible in device manager
    • Secondary drive not visible in disk manager

    Steps to replicate issue:

    • Installing 1909 update

    Steps to resolve issue:

    • Uninstall 1909 update

    Since updates can only be delayed for so long, an actual fix would be appreciated.

    Windows 10 upgrade now external hard drives not recognized

    I have two Western Digital 3TB Mybook essential external hard drives and two Seagate 4TB expansion desktop drives model SRD00F2 that were all recognized when I was running Windows 7. Once I upgraded to Windows 10 they were no longer recognized. I upgraded
    the firmware on the drives but no luck. The drives are visible in Device Manager but greyed out. They are not visible in Disk Manager so I am not able to change the letters as many posts have suggested. I have plugged the drives into another PC with Windows7
    and as expected the drives work fine. Any suggestions would be appreciated before I roll back to Windows 7.

    Replacing old hard drive, need way to copy Windows installation across

    Hey Guys,
    What would be the best way of copying/imaging the entire contents of an old system drive over to a replacement hard disk for the same machine? I need to copy the Windows installations and all other data to the new drive, and then format the old drive to use as a backup.
