  1. Windows 7 File Explorer in Windows 10?

Windows 10 File Explorer is just far too buggy.
    1. Typing into the search bar sometimes causes characters to delete and replace themselves as you type. E.g. typing “Hi” in the search bar, would cause he “i” to replace the “h”. Basically, each proceeding character will replace the previous one.

    1. Sometimes, hitting “Ctrl + F” doesn’t select the search bar.

    2. Sometimes, 1 file or more files can cause File Explorer to perform incredibly slowly or not at all. This file, by the way, cannot be deleted unless you restart your PC.

    3. (And this is the most important one) When typing into the search bar, File Explorer does not automatically search for File or Folder as you type. Instead, you have to manually press enter to begin the file search. Which brings me to my next point

    4. Pressing enter after you’ve typed into into the search bar can cause you to jump to a random folder on the “Quick Access” pane rofl

    5. If you type into the search bar (y’know, when it isn’t bugging out lol) you will see a drop-down list of suggested files that appear below the search bar. Clicking on any file in that drop-down list, will cause it to automatically open, instead of taking you to the folder it belongs to.

    6. Transferring, deleting files or emptying the recycle bin is noticeably slower in Windows 10.

    7. Not a bug, but I hate how bare bones the status bar is at the bottom. (Yes, OldNewExplorer can fix this)

If there are any tech-savvy people in this community, I'd love a way to use Windows 7's File Explorer in Windows 10. Honestly, it's absolutely appalling how bad Windows 10’s File Explorer is compared to how perfect it was on Windows 7… the inferior OS. All the issues I am experiencing right now, in Windows 10, did not occur in Windows 7. And I was considering moving back to Windows 7 until learned that, since that OS is old, it leaves your PC at risk of malware, ransomware, etc.

The only other alternative I can think of, is an alternate file explorer that behaves exactly like Windows 7's file explorer, which is not realistic (maybe it is, I don't know).

This hypothetical File Explorer would need to be able to:
    0. None of the issues above (lol big ask, I know)
    1. Display icons and thumbnails
    2. Favorites Pane
    3. Decently powerful

I can't be the only one who loved Windows 7's file explorer!

Thanks to those of you who read this post.
I hope someone can help... somehow!

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

Microsoft Internet Explorer renamed to Windows Internet Explorer ?

Windows 7 File Explorer in Windows 10? wie1.png

Since version 7 of the world`s most popular web browser - Microsoft Internet Explorer was silently renamed to Windows Internet Explorer.Such a step from Microsoft is not a surprise since Internet Explorer is part of the Windows operation system for a long time.Obviously Microsoft corp. wants to state that Internet Explorer is already considered as a part of Windows and not as an external browser (remember the IE and WMP law issues last year!?).

Windows 7 File Explorer in Windows 10?

Some files listed in Windows Explorer are blue font

I seem to have run out of room on a Windows XP Pro system. I tried to defrag but don't have but 7% room available. I looked in Windows Explorer to try to find some huge files that might be corrupt and I see a few that are listed in blue. What does that mean? I have not compressed anything on purpose. Thanks
