  1. Windows 7: How do I move the entire C:\Users folder to D drive?

I saw a walk through for Win10 for this but what about for Win7? I get tired of constantly trimming the fat as C balloons in size. I've got lots of space on D drive. Once I was able to delete DriverStore which freed up significant space. Now it doesn't allow me. Not sure how I managed that before. And what about C:\Program Files\Java? Can this be moved to D drive?

    :)

Vista Ultimate - 'User' Folder Location

    No tried that.

Can copy the entire folder to D; but Windows still points to C as the location. Can change personal folders location to a folder on D;, but this still leaves hidden files etc on C;. Thus meaning there are 2 Users folders. Have managed to change the Public folder location to D;, with some registry tweaks, but this doesnt seem to work for the entire folder.

    any more suggestions

Windows 7 to 10 update keeping OS on C and users on D

This past weekend I decided to give it another go and try to upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10. This time it worked GREAT! My OS is on the c: drive, and it used my USERS folder on the d: drive, where last time it ignored my profiles on the d: drive and created one on the c: drive. I am a very happy Windows 10 user, though it is taking time for me to move comfortably around it. But, I'm getting there.

Perhaps the passage of time made a difference, and Microsoft made some changes to their upgrade software.

Windows 7: How do I move the entire C:\Users folder to D drive?

How to format on Windows 7

just format from the installer on the windows 7 DVD. the options there when you choose which drive to install on.

i suggest partiotining the drive, i run with a 60GB C: drive, but then move my user folder to the D: partition - so that when i format/reinstall, my desktop/my docs, etc, dont get lost.
