    Windows 7 in a VM in 2024


    What's the current thinking about running Windows 7 Professional in a VM under Windows 11?I'm setting up a Windows 11 machine, and I need Windows 7 so I can run certain legacy software that isn't compatible with Windows 11. The solution I'm considering is to run Windows 7 inside a VM currently Hyper-V under Windows 11. How do I get a properly licensed install of Windows 7 in 2024? Is it still possible to buy a legitimate copy of Windows 7 Professional in 2024?Google finds me plenty of "hacker-ish" ways around this, but I'm wondering if there's a "legit" method.
