Windows 7 Laptop can't see exfat hard drive.

Hello, I have been in the process of moving an Xbox one game onto a windows 7 laptop to retrieve a game file. Several steps I took were taking an NTFS format usb 3.0 external hard drive and connecting it to an Xbox one I believe it is either an Xbox one x or Xbox one S and selecting it for games and apps, along with the "this will not just be connected to this xbox" option. The game copied successfully and I disconnected it from the Xbox and connected it to the laptop. The drive appeared only in two spots, the taskbar, where it has the eject button, and disk management. I couldn't view file

    :)

  2. Formating to exFAT

    Hi Taylor,

If you want to format an external hard drive or USB flash drive in exFAT, you can follow these steps:

    • Press and hold Windows key + x on your keyboard. This open the context menu.
    • Select Command Prompt (Admin).
    • Type format g: /FS:exFAT and then Enter to begin formatting the G drive as exFAT
For any query, feel free to reach us.

  3. How do I format an internal hard drive to exFAT in Windows 10?

If windows fails to format your hard drive to exFAT, you can use third-party tools to do the formatting thing for you. For example, PartitionGuru can format hard drive to exFAT as well.

Step 1: Install and run this partition manager and you can see the hard drive in the software.

Step 2: Select the hard drive you want to format and click the Format button on the tool bar.

Step 3: Select exFAT in the file system colume and then click "Format" button.

  4. Windows 7 Laptop can't see exfat hard drive.

Windows 7 cannot see Exfat usb drive

I have a usb flash drive which was formatted as exfat on a Windows 10 machine, which works on Windows 10, Linux and macOS but the windows 7 machine only sees it as a fat32 partition and won't assign a drive letter.

Anyone have any suggestions how to get windows 7 to see the files on it?
