Windows 10: Windows 7 Style Backup Freezes Around 12%

I've recently had an issue with the Windows 7 style backup to a network drive running on my Windows 10 laptop. It had been working the past couple of years, but yesterday I noticed it hadn't worked for about 6 weeks - luckily I'd not run into a problem that needed restoring.I've seen a number of posts for the same problem, but many of the solutions suggested that it could be AV getting in the way. I've not made any changes there, so that didn't seem feasible.Anyway, after a few hours playing I got it working again - by simple using the Manage Space View Backups option to delete the CURRENT B

Windows 7-style backups on Windows 10

You cannot due Windows 7-style backups in Windows 10. The Control Panel applet is for people who are upgrading from Windows 7 and want to restore a backup they made in Window 7.

Get third-party backup software. It's easy top understand, very convenient and has more features than Windows 7 backup ever had.

In Windows 10 there are two types of backups:

• the old style windows 7
• File History that allows you to save your important files to an external drive.

Backup and restore(Windows 7) is just a label to remove confusion-it means you are using Windows 7 style backup

I have no idea why you have anything in C:\users as you show.

What I suggest you do is:
For test purposes, being cautious, create a new folder on your desktop (say) and move that C:\users to that.

If Thunderbird is happy (I expect it will be) then you could delete that folder.
