Windows 10: Windows 7 upgrades to Win10

Our system is Win 7 and we want to upgrade it to Win 10. But our IT said that our PC didn’t stick with Win 10 image and didn’t purchase any Win 10 license. Last time,we upgraded our another laptop to Win 10 for free. Do we still need to purchase Win 10 license?

When in win10:

• Update&security -> Windows update -> Finding update... .... .... ....

Planning to download the latest Win10.ISO (vers.1803) and manually update:
- Then wait that my ordered new SSD arrives and clone the old HDD to it.
