Windows 10: Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 aside by booting via bios boot-drive selection.

Hi everybody. My machine at work has Windows 8.1 installed. I want to extend the system by an additional ssd drive and install Windows 10 to it. However, I want to boot the machine from the two harddrives via the bios boot manager. So it means both operating systems don’t know about each other. Furthermore, when I remove the new additional harddrive with Windows 10, the machine should boot the native Windows 8.1 just like nothing happened What is the best way to do it? What to avoid? I don’t want to screw up the current running 8.1 system by extending the machine with a second os-harddrive.Tha

I was having a slow boot issue on my Windows 7 install a little while back. It would take about 30 - 40 extra seconds to boot up for whatever reason.

I would try following these steps, while this didn't solve my issue, it did increase Read/Write to where it should be.

In the end, I had to reinstall my Windows 7 entirely to fix the booting issue. It was taking around 35 seconds to boot, and after the fresh install it takes about 7 seconds to boot.

Here is a statement from a Kernal Developer at Red Hat:

I'm not sure this exploits the legacy BIOS but rather it exploits the legacy boot method on MBR drives, injecting a signed key before the OS boots, which you are correct in that it has nothing to do with Windows 8. And the simplest fix would just be to require boot drives use GPT when Secure Boot is enabled in UEFI.
