    Windows 8.1 does not recognize my new updated password or my old password


    Windows 8.1 does not recognize my new updated password or my old password which I wrote down & taped to the PC. This is the only account on this PC. I do not have a pre-created password reset disk but I do have Win 10 on a USB. If I can unlock the PC, I could update it. I also have a version of Linux on DVD that I could use to update the HD. Maybe then I could install Win 10 over that?

    Password issue

    After going through the steps to make a new password, after a week or two, my login credentials are no longer valid. I'm forced to make a new password all over again. It seems to happen if I don't login in a certain period of time. Does our passwords expire???
