Windows 10: WIndows 8.1 License expires

Hi,I just bought a Dell Latitude E6440 laptop with ACTIVATED Windows 8.1 from eBay. I've found out that the Windows license expires soon. This is what it reads:"Your Windows license expires on Sunday, July 31, 2022. Contact your system admin to get a product key."That screen had a button to enter a key. I tried to enter the key that was in the battery compartment under the battery but it didn't accept it. My questions are:1. Since it looks like from the stickers on the laptop that it came with a Windows 7 version, can I download and install that version online and then upgrade to Windows 10 fo
