Windows 10: Windows 8.1 ... Still asking for password when the option is unchecked

Hey All...This is actual for my elderly mothers computer, who lives far far away. I have to access her computer remotely... In user accounts the box is unchecked for users to enter a username and password to use comptuer, curious as to why it would still ask for a password etc if the box is unchecked when restarting the computer? Usually she keeps the pc on, so its not an issue, but there was a power outage, and when it restarted it asked for the password, etc which she forgot... But we figured it out.. finally! Curious how to completely remove the option, cause unchecking the box saying

Windows 10 is asking for a password even though the option is unchecked

I unchecked the option to have Windows 10 ask for a password. It worked for a day or two but now it's requiring a password again upon waking up or rebooting--even though the option is still unchecked. I made a registry change that was suggested and it has not worked. How can I get Windows 10 to stop ignoring my changes?
