Windows 10: Windows 8.1 to Windows 10

So I know someone who was very hesitant on upgrading their computer to Windows 10 during the free upgrade period back in 2015. Her computer is now struggling with it's updates and I am trying to see if it is still possible to upgrade it to Windows 10 using her original Windows 8.1 product key. Her computer would be better doing an offline upgrade. However, online is still possible if offline either doesn't work, or is not an option. I know this was a posibility during that free upgrade period in according to this post.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
