Windows 10: Windows 8 key exsauted can't activate windows 11

hi everyone i upgraded to windows 11 from windows 8 using a retail key, I have upgraded my motherboard and CPU many times since owning the key from 2012. Microsoft support is telling me the key has been exsauted and I need to buy a new key after I replaced my motherboard and CPU. When i chatted with a microsoft support via phone, she said i have to buy a new key. Whereas 3 supervisors told me I need a new key to be generated but none of those supervisors ever call me back. the iso i got on my google drive doesn't need a serial to install, it just installs and then u activate it, when windows is started.
