  1. windows 8 laptop won't detect windows 10 desktop homegroup via wifi.

Hi there. i have been at this for about 6 and a half hours now. I am trying to connect a windows 8 laptop to a windows 10 desktop homegroup via wifi. The desktop created the homegroup with no issues and if i go into the "media streaming options" i can see the laptop in the list.
But when i go to connect the laptop to the laptop to the desktop homegroup all i see on top is "There is currently no homegroup on the network."
if i try to create the homegroup on the laptop i cannot find it in the desktop as well.
i was hoping that someone here can help me troubleshoot this issue.
    thanks. mike,

here are the things i have tried so far.

    -in cmd.exe
    -ipconfig /renew
    -ipconfig /flushdns
    -ipconfig /release

-turning off all computers after leaving the homegroup. turning on one computer creating the homegroup on that computer then trying to join on the other computer afterwards. (done for both computers)
    -reset all network settings
-make sure ipv6 was enables on both computers
    -renamed both computers
-reset modem and created a new ssid and password.
and thats about all i can remember.
    thanks again,
    mike.

    :)

  3. Unable to join homegroup windows 10

I am running Windows 10 64-bit on a desktop and Windows 10 32-bit on a laptop computer. I created a homegroup on the desktop computer and the laptop is able to see the homegroup on the desktop computer, but I am unable to join the homegroup. I get the
error "Windows no longer detects a homegroup on this network. To create a new homegroup, click OK, and then open Homegroup in Control Panel." However, when I click OK it says "You've been invited to join a homegroup." I've run the homegroup troubleshooter
on both machines (the host computer [desktop]) and the computer that I'm trying to join to the homegroup [laptop]. But, nothing seems to change. Can anyone help me troubleshoot this problem?

    Thanks,

    Brian
