Nothing wrong in staying with W7 is there mate? I believe it will be supported until 2020.

What I find interesting is that there is a scroll bar with only 14 items on the start menu, is it not dynamic. I usually have 20+ menu items on my start button and no scroll bar, I think I can populate it with up to 25 items and no scroll bar.

I like Aero, I don't see why it couldn't be an option for those that like it.

I also, like the Charms bar, wish they would leave that.

But then again, I am content with Windows 7, and Windows 8.0/8.1 with my Start 8 menu and Modern Mix.

Flat is fast huh? My good looking 7 is fast. I would assume a good looking 9 would be at least as fast. Some don't care about the "eye candy", but I do.

  7. Aero has gone into the Recycle Bin to be tossed out with the rest of the rubbish that hideous UI/UX design form introduced. Good freaking riddance I say. I don't want a UI where only a marginal 10% of the it is what is considered "eye candy." I'd rather have the rest of the UI, the WHOLE UI, be my eye candy, not shiny window borders and glossy drop shadows. It was designed in 2006 and should stay in 2006.

And yep, Aero iconography is being tossed into the Recycle Bin!! *Party*Party*Party In the last few seconds, you see the new (I assume) This PC icon and File Explorer metro styled icons. YES!

I will be upgrading. *Smile Been waiting for this for literally three years.

    Over 9000% agreed.
Personally, if it wasn't for the right side of that start menu, I would move in an heartbeat to Win9.
Microsoft, FFS, at LEAST, give us the option to remove that Metro/Modern UI BS from the start menu. AT LEAST. You've kneeled soooooooooo many years to the "classic interface" (ie. flat and ugly win9x/2000/Me GUI) veterans and, yet, you don't want us to have a decent start menu for those who just want it without the ugly-ness and marketing hell that is Metro. Most of those options in there, I have my browser for that which is always open and will probably do a better job at it anyway. I shouldn't have to install ANY third-party software to catter to my needs in that department.

If you watch the video they are pinning and unpinning metro apps from the start so you can remove the ones you don't like to see. I think it looks excellent myself.

Getting happier about win 9 after watching the video

Nice to see the start screen there as an option
Just need to wait and see if store apps can run as now (full screen not on desktop) then win 9 is just right for me

Sooooo, Windows 9 is nothing more than an interface change, and updates is different. Is that all?

and for the Aero haters, I ask "you must have hated using Windows 7 for all those years?", I find that odd.

I will, of course, check it out to see if I can modify enough to satisfy me. If I can turn off the live tile nonsense, delete ALL the metro stuff, I'll be ok. Oh, and I will make use of the feedback option.... though I have no illusions....
