  2. Ovi Store stuck on "Loading"

thanks for trying this, but whats worse is that today IDC posted results showing nokia n1 in daily downloading apps in ovi store with 66% market share surpassing apple. So yes, now that we cant access ovi store, how will this affect the stats in next IDC
    quarter results?

I'm one of those "dinosaurs" that will continue to use a PC until the day I go "boots up". Hand held devices might be OK for making phone calls and texting, but I want my 23" LCD for daily web surfing and work.

I am one of those too, except I use a 32" LCD. The hand held devices are not for me either.

  6. Well I'm another dinosaur but I like the hand held gadgets, got a Windows 8 Smartphone, an Asus Windows 8.1 Notebook and a Kindle Fire HD.

My 22" monitor is attached to my Windows 7 machine, can't use the television as it's still an old CTR not capable of modern day use.

  7. My gaming PC will always be a desktop. I can't imagine not having at least one desktop PC in the house. I would like to build at least one more gaming system. My laptop is more than powerful enough to do what I do on it so I can't see buying another one unless it dies on me. Buying a tablet would just be an extravagance as I don't really need one.

Really don't see a new PC in the future with having just bought 27" Lovono, an iMac 27" (two very sweet systems. One iPod, along with a Kindle Fire HDX. Think those device should last another five years.

I still have my desktop and will probably always have one. I'm interessed in smart devices, however, they may be fine on-the-go for small tasks but for any serious stuff, I need my desktop PC with mouse and keyboard.

  12. I too don't see the "end of the line" for PC's anytime near as soon as some do. Handhelds have their place I guess, but some/most of us still use real computers.

Yea I don't see the pc disappearing in my lifetime. Sales may slow down, doesn't mean the pc is going anywhere. It merely means that the market is saturated. Everybody's got at least one. Plus, given the relative power of today's machines, they'll be lasting for a good long time.

In all honesty tablets (and to an extent phones) will probably satisfy the average users needs i.e. music, video, social media, browsing, etc. But governments, companies, gamers, military and so on will always be using PC's.

I totally agree. My PC is 3 years old now, but when I built it I didn't spare any costs so it would work for a lot of years and still be able to run the newer OS's as they came out.
