Hello. I have an old laptop which when bought had Windows 7 but now has Windows 10. I want it to only use to play a Windows 98 game age of empires. I have the original Windows 98 operating system disc. I imagine that Windows 10 will be taking up memory? What would be the best way to install 98. I haven’t used a PC for years so am away out the loop when it comes to Windows. TIA Jim

Windows 98 and ME no longer updatable...

Quite right, XP is still listed in technet. Win 98 unfortunately isn't. Windows 3.1 and 3.2 are listed though.

    Windows 98......

Windows 98 SE is Windows 9x and Windows 2000 is Windows NT. Some software may not run on Windows 2000 where it did on Windows 98 SE (ISA especially).

Windows 98 SE does have USB support but it isn't near as plug n' play as it is today. You have to make sure to install drivers (if nothing else, generic Microsoft drivers) for all USB devices. The Windows 98 SE disk comes in real handy for that.
