Windows 10: Windows Activation After Reinstalling Windows

Hi All.

I was recently advised by Dell to reinstall windows after my laptop had encountered an issue where it would freeze often and the only way to stop this was to unplug and replug the AC adaptor. I reinstalled windows 10 using the windows 10 boot USB tool which Dell advised to use.

When I reinstalled windows 10, it had wiped my product key from my laptop. I now get the error 0xC004F213


I have been trying to activate my windows by going to

Activation Settings > Troubleshoot > I Recently Changed Hardware On This Device > Selecting the laptop which I am using before the windows reinstall > This is the device that I'm using at the moment > Activate.


Microsoft still had a record in my account of the laptop microsoft key before windows had been reinstalled. When clicking activate it says

Unable to activate Windows.

We can't reactivate windows on this device. Try again later.


I have waited for a couple of days and still not hope.


Do anyone know how I can reactivate my windows / 'transfer' my old windows 10 home license off my now none existent windows to my new windows?

Windows 7 not genuine problem

It seems like that's an OEM windows copy, it will do that the every time you reinstall the OS. If you have the key, next time you see the "not genuine windows copy" click it and choose to activate by phone, everything else is pretty straight forward as it explains step-by-step. If it doesn't work, then its highly likely that you got a Pirate copy.

 

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx

 

Reinstall Windows?

You don't need to reinstall windows. Go to the device manager and remove uninstall the processor and motherboard drivers listed. When you start the system back up you should be able to re-install the new ones. I just changed my mobo/processor Friday, everything is fine.

BTW I have seen some reviews that state practically no difference in using more than 2gb of ram.
