Windows 10: Windows Activation after transferring drives.

I previously had an m.2 sata ssd, and wanted more storage as well as performance, so I picked up an m.2 nvme drive. I used the media creation tool to create a windows installation, and booted up the pc from the new drive and installed windows. I followed the steps for a previously activated version of windows by saying I did not have a product key and skipping the steps that required it. I purchased this pc originally from another owner who built it, so I did not activate windows myself, but based on the microsoft support pages, I should not need any form of activation key, as the key should be generated and stored on microsoft’s servers. All I should have needed was an internet connection. I had windows 10 home on the old drive, so I installed windows 10 home on the new drive. When I view my devices, the old device shows windows 10 home 1803, while the new device shows windows 10 home 2009. I have tried the troubleshooting steps, and called support. They were meant to transfer me to tech support, but I have been on hold for 2 hours now with no help. How can I get my windows activated so I have no more watermark issues or activation issues?

Can you confirm that the computer at step 5 (I numbered your list *Wink ) had never had an activated Insider build (especially not 10240)?

I'm wondering if it was possible that the second machine activated because the activation servers recognised the hardware from an earlier activation, and not because of the method you used to transfer?

 

Need Help Files Transfer

I have a computer running Windows XP Home Edition. That computer has two internal HDDs:

The 1st HDD is C:\ that running Windows. And it has 20GB total of capacity.
The 2nd HDD is D:\ that is empty. And it has 90GB total of capacity.

The C:\ drive is almost run out of space (full). Is there a way I can transfer everything in the C:\ drive to the D:\ drive and begin to use the D:\ drive from there on as primary drive?
Can the Windows Files Transfer feature in XP transfer everything I have in C:\ to D:\? If it cannot, then which way can I use to perform the above step?
