  1. Windows Activation Error

    Hello everyone,

TL;DR - I built this computer for myself over a year ago, and have had no problems before this. A few weeks ago, my windows said it needed activation but when I went to solve it said that I was using education edition instead of home edition which I initially bought from best buy, it said said that I needed to contact my organization for help, but I am on a home network so I have no organization, and the product key it showed did not match my own at least the 5 last digits didn't. There are other problems listed below that showed up. I have tried the trouble shooter, and changing my product key to the one I initially bought, but neither worked. My school switched to windows and got us surface go's, and I am connected to my school OneDrive as well as my personal on this computer, so that could be the source of my problem perhaps. Looking for any solution that could help. Thanks.

I have been having a weird issue with my windows lately and I am hoping someone out there has gone through this or knows what to do to fix it. For a little background, I built this computer myself over a year ago and everything has been working fine up until now with windows and I bought a legitimate key from best buy for Windows 10 Home. It all started a few weeks ago when the watermark showed up in the bottom right corner of my screen telling me that I needed to activate windows. When I went to activate windows, it showed me a few things that were odd on my screen. First, in the settings under activation, it showed that my edition was "Windows 10 Education" when the product key I initially used was for windows 10 home edition. Second, it showed a product key that didn't even match the product key I used to initially activate windows on this account. Third, red text showed up underneath where it showed the wrong product key with the message I typed out below

"We can't activate Windows on this device as we can't connect to your organization's activation server. Make sure you're connected to your organization's network and try again. If you continue having problems with activation, contact your organization's support person. Error code: 0x8007232B"

This message was odd for a couple of reasons. This is my personal computer, and I have never signed up to be affiliated with an organization, so I have no clue who would be my "organization" or, more importantly, my "organization's support person". I have been connected to the same network since I first installed windows on this computer, and I have no problem using the internet now so I also do not know what my "organization's network" is either.

My computer is working fine as of now; I am able to freely use the internet, do my school work, game and listen to music without issue, but I cannot edit any of my settings or download certain applications. This problem is a nuisance that has been bothering me for a while, and all help I have enlisted from my friends has yet to yield results.

I have one theory that is, well, just a theory. My school switched to Microsoft this year, meaning that we all were given Surface Go's and a Microsoft office account as well. I have logged into both my school Microsoft account and my personal Microsoft account on this computer that is having the issues. I have no idea if this is even possible, but I have the weird feeling that my personal computer's windows account got taken over by my school's surface and Microsoft accounts. The only reason I get this feeling is because, well, my settings say I have windows education edition installed, and because the only thing that could possibly be my "organization" is my school.

I have tried all of the simple solutions for this problem. I have used the troubleshooter, but it just says to contact my system administrator again and to check that I am connected to the internet once again, my internet works completely fine. I tried changing my product key back to the one I initially bought windows with it is on the front of my OEM System Builder License windows product key package, but it said that my product key did not work.

Is my only solution to buy another windows product key and try again? I would really like to solve this an easier and cheaper way. I read somewhere about performing a clean install of my whole account, but that seems drastic and risky and I do not want to lose my information if I perform it improperly. I am reaching out to anyone who can help me with this issue.

    Thank you all in advance

    :)

Windows 10 will not activate Error code 0x803F7001

Possibly there can be the problem with Microsoft activation Server, so your Windows 10 is not activated. In this scenario, you need to wait and verify if it is the issue from Microsoft’s side. But if you are getting error code 0x803f7001, you can also try these steps:

    1. Open Settings app. Then go to Update and security > Activation screen > Change product.
    2. Type your Windows edition product key and click Next.
    3. You’ll get We couldn’t activate Windows error message.
    4. Retry steps 1-3 then type your 25-characters unique product key.
    5. Wait for the process to complete, Windows 10 is activated.
    Hope something helps this problem

    Windows 10 Activation Error: 0xC004F034

    Hi Greg,

This error code is usually caused by a problem with the product key. For better assistance, we would like to clarify how you got the Windows 10 Pro? Is it supplied by a company?

As an initial troubleshooting step, we suggest that you run the Activation troubleshooter and try activating Windows 10 Pro again. To run the Activation troubleshooter, follow these steps:

    • Click the Start button and select the Settings
      icon.
    • Choose Update & Security from the list.
    • Select Activation in the left pane of the window.
    • Click Troubleshoot.

If your Windows 10 Pro is supplied by a company, we recommend that you get in touch with your organization's support for assistance with the activation.

We'll be waiting to your reply.
