Windows 10: Windows Activation Failure

I purchased a Dell laptop from Joy Systems with a promised pre-installed Windows Activation Key on the computer. Upon receiving the computer, I was unable to activate Windows as "no key was found." I reached out to Joy Systems and received a product key to enter but get an error that it did not work error code - 0xc0020036When I try to troubleshoot I get the same error code and a pop up that says "Something has prevented us from communicating with our activation servers." Because of this pop up, Joy Systems says the problem is from Microsoft and has offered no more assistance. I purchased this

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx
