Windows 10: Windows Activation on a new build

    Windows Activation on a new build


    Sorry in advance if I'm getting redundant, just want to get everything right.

    I was preparing for a new build and the plan to give my son the old computer. I asked the community how it would work with the activation and received prompt responses. So in preparation I downloaded the installer and purchased Windows 10. The new build included a new motherboard and new CPU. However, I did retain and reuse the boot drive. When I brought the system up and logged in I fully expected that I would need to use my new Product Key to activate Windows. What happened was that my account still shows the same computer name and says that Windows is activated with a digital license linked to my account.

    So here is my question when my son logs into his account I assume the motherboard will still carry the same name and product key, should I go into my account now and change the name and product key. And if I do, will that still allow my son to take over the license.

    windows xp installation and dual core am

    could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx
