Windows 10: Windows alt-tab borked, possibly by spotify?

So I've found something very interesting(and annoying)

If I let spotify open at startup, open up youtube, then try using F8 to play/pause, my alt-tab breaks for around 20 seconds. I can close youtube and the entire browser, but it will still break alt-tab if I try and use fn(key with steelseries logo on it)+f8.

But if I restart spotify through task manager and close all its associated background processes, alt-tab works fine and the fn+F8 doesn't break it.

Does anyone know why this is happening and have a fix? is this even spotify, or have I found a coincidence?

Also, I can never get spotify to use said media keys(F7,F8, and F9). Anyone know how to get spotify to use these?

alt + tab not working

Just found a really cool way to make alt+tab INSTANT!!!

In the launch options write the following: -windowed -noborder





This play exactly the same as fullscreen but now you dont have to wait 30 f*@!ing seconds to alt+tab back in!

Also you don't get the little purple/black checkered effect (only in Source games) from alt+tabbing in fullscreen.

i always just use the windows key to get back to the desktop [pops up the start dealy, doesn't need anything to alt+tab to]

 

alt tabbing increases system performance?

Skyrim doesnt work correctly you alt tab, but if you alt tab to it again while the screen is black, it loads up with the windows cursor over the top. If i repeatedly do this, eventually it fullscreens properly without issues. Slightly weird.
