  1. Windows always runs chkdsk and fails. & can't defragment the drive

I recently moved some files from a Linux system off a btrfs partition to my 1 TB ntfs drive, and I've been encountering issues trying to do anything with the drive on Windows. The drive works just fine, but Windows forces chkdsk to run on every single boot, and I can't defragment the drive "Optimization not available" probably due to Windows detecting errors.Any time chkdsk runs, it completes, however running fsutil dirty query or chkntfs right after always results in "Volume is dirty". chkdsk doesn't seem to work correctlySo far I've tried:Manually unmarking the dirty bit from Linux Windows

    Defragment and Optimize Drives Problem

    Hi Edward,

Based on the details you have provided, your C drive was unrecognized by the system. We suggest that you run these
commands and see if there are any changes:

    • Open
      Command Prompt
      as
      Administrator.

    • Run
      the following commands:

      • To fix any logical file errors:

        • Chkdsk C: /f /r

      • To defrag your Drive C manually:

        • Defrag C: /D /U

Update us on how it goes.

    Regards.

  3. Windows Defrag

When running defrag, there is a drive listing for Windows RE Tools. It shows as a solid state drive and that it has never been defragged. It will not optimize. Clicking on it does nothing. Any suggestions?

CHKDSK and Defragment Error on SSD drive

    Thanks for answer,

I did what you've told, disk checking proccess runned twice (Seemed like it got into a loop but after second "repairing", boot continued.) and l landed in desktop again. I wanted to check the defragment app (dfrgui.exe) and my C drive isn't shown in there.
(again) I runned chkdsk from cmd, and it found errors in same segments again. I thing windows connot repair my drive.
