Windows 10: WINDOWS AMD DRIVER 26.20.12028.2 microsoft signed driver issue with windows 10 2004

Hi,


I have laptop with intel chipset with graphics and radeon graphic chip. my laptop works fine with all earlier versions of windows, like windows 7 window 8 windows8.1.

but once I install windows 10 it works fine till I connect to internet. once I connect internet and update windows

It will work fine with all other updates but once microsoft signed AMD driver version WINDOWS AMD DRIVER 26.20.12028.2 downloads and starts to install the laptop hangs and become non responsive.



I used wushowhide tool from microsoft but it says there is no issue.



Again I formatted the laptop and reinstalled windows 10 V2004 again but this time I did not connect to internet. after installation I disabled windows update and run amd auto detect tool to download tool.

It fetched new version win10-radeon-software-adrenalin-2020-edition-20.7.1-july9 but same issue than I checked manually and found new version which is win10-radeon-software-adrenalin-2020-edition-20.8.1-aug4 ,but the problem still persists.

Again I formatted the laptop and reinstalled windows 10 again but this time I did not installed new version I used old 1909.

After installation connect to internet. I disabled windows update and run amd auto detect tool to download tool to install new driver. It downloaded and installed win10-radeon-software-adrenalin-2020-edition-20.8.1-aug4 without any problem.

the laptop worked perfectly.


After testing for 2 hours created system restore point .now I enabled windows update,

the update went well but once it started downloading Microsoft digitally Signed AMD driver "WINDOWS AMD DRIVER 26.20.12028.2" and starts to install the laptop stopped responding.

I restarted my laptop to last restored point to try again.

same issue repeated several times.

ultimately I restored m laptop and disabled windows update completely. now it is working perfectly but without any updates from microsoft.



In windows 10 2004 version neither I can install AMD drivers directly downloaded from AMD nor I can install windows digitally signed drivers which will b automatically downloaded and installed by windows.


Any one faced same issue please let us know the solution.

SSD samsung evo and amd drivers

Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

The issue could be because of the AMD drivers installed on the computer.

Since the Samsung SSD is working fine with the Microsoft AHCI driver, I suggest you to update the AMD driver and check if that helps. To update the AMD drivers follow the steps from the article

Update drivers in Windows 10.

If updating the drivers didn’t help, I suggest you to roll back the driver to previous build and check if that helps. To roll back the driver to previous build follow the steps mentioned below:

1. Press and hold the Windows + X key on the keyboard.
   
2. Select Device manager.
   
3. In Device manager, expand IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers.
   
4. Right click on AMD SATA Controller and select
   Properties.
   
5. Navigate to the Driver tab and click on Roll Back Driver.
   
6. Restart the computer.

AMD Driver for Windows 10 not Functioning

Hi,

Thank you posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I understand that you are facing problems with AMD Drivers.

Please follow the steps given below to resolve this issue.

Uninstall and Reinstall the AMD
Drivers.

Step 1: Uninstall the AMDDrivers.

a. Press “Windows Logo” + “X” keys on the keyboard.

b. Click on “Device Manager” from that list.

c. Search for the AMDDrivers from the device list, right click on it and then select “Uninstall”.
On the un-installation window, if you have an option: “Delete the driver software for this device” you may select that and then remove the corrupted drivers from the computer.

d. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete it and then restart the computer if prompted.

After the restart, please go ahead with the next steps to install the latest drivers and check if that resolves the issue.

Update Driver Software from the Manufacturer’s website:

Step 2: Go to the manufacturer’s website and search for the latest Windows 10 drivers available for the
AMDDrivers and then install it by following the instructions given in the website.

Windows 7 wont install drivers

i dont think anyone here understands what your asking either when its nearly a 90% english dominated Tech forum.
Step 1
reinstall windows from scratch
Step 2
install all drivers from the cd that came with the god damn motherboard *common sense*
Step 3
update windows
Step 4
install misc etc crap like flash java etc etc
Step 5
Install GPU drivers
Step 6
go back to using your pc without issue.
