  1. Windows and Bluetooth Audio unreliable

I often don't hear the sound from e.g. games. I can only hear sound from a game if something is playing in the background, like a YouTube video, the YT vid could also be muted.

I'm guessing Windows mutes the Audio when certain apps stop playing Audio, even though I have another program playing Audio (e.g. a game).

Also, sometimes the Volume Mixer wouldn't adjust the volume at all, but only mute the Audio when it goes down to 10%-0% Volume. In that case, I have to disable Bluetooth and delete the Bluetooth Headphone entries, and reconnect to my BT headphones.

Windows has proven itself to be very buggy with Bluetooth Audio, unlike Android. The Sound panel also shows 2 devices "Stereo" and "Hands-free", which use-cases are not made clear.

Ranting about Windows usual buggyness aside...

Does anyone of you know how to make Windows play Audio at all times, and not mute it, when one of my programs stop playing Audio? And also how to make the Volume Mixer work at all times?

Does it perhaps help if I disable some specific Bluetooth Services (shown in the image) that are listed in the Properties of my BT Headphone?

No idea what these services are, because these services have been named useless things like "Remote Control", and another one's called "Remotely controllable device".

    windows 10 Bluetooth audio problems

    Hi,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

    • What is the make and model of your computer?
    • Do you get any error message?

I suggest to use a different Bluetooth speaker and check if the same issue persists. Also try using the current speaker with different computer running Windows 10 and check. As you are getting Crackles or warning sound it might be an issue with hardware.

Refer the link below and perform the troubleshooting steps suggested and check if that helps.

Fix connections to Bluetooth audio devices and wireless displays.

    Bluetooth in windows 10

My computer specs are as listed in the profile. I think all of you guys are correct. I don't have built-in Bluetooth in mobo.

I contacted skull candy headphones and thy have told me if I do not have built-in Bluetooth, I would need a dongle which supports at least a2dp. I do not know what the heck that means. I have a feeling I would need more than a cheap dongle.

Anyone suggest some a2dp adapters. I searched but don't know what a2dp is so couldn't make a decision

Bluetooth kills all audio to/from phone Lumia 635

    Hi BruceSAllen.

Thank you for posting on the forum.

I understand that using Bluetooth connection between your Lumia 635 and your Car's audio system causes issues in relation to audio connection, you're not able to send nor receive audio signal.

In this situation I would advise to try few troubleshooting steps.

I would suggest to try to connect the phone via Bluetooth to another Bluetooth audio system, in order to isolate the issue.

In relation to connection with your Car's Audio System, I would try to Remove the Paired Device,

Settings > Bluetooth, tap and hold your finger on your Car Audio System that should be listed here and select Delete,

and Pair it again after that.

Within the Windows Phone Bluetooth FAQ, you will find a list of compatible Bluetooth profiles,

it's worth checking if the Car's Audio System also provides compatibility with the listed profiles:

    http://www.windowsphone.com/en-gb/how-to/wp8/connectivity/bluetooth-faq

If the issue persists in both described situations, I would advise to backup your phone's content and process your phone's Reset.

For more information about backup :

For more information about Reset :

Windows Phone 8.1 End of Support: FAQ

If the issue persists after Hard Resetting the phone, and you've confirmed that the Car's Audio System is compatible with listed Bluetooth profiles, I would suggest contacting the place of purchase of the phone, as the device might need servicing.

    Thank You,

    Marek
