  1. Windows App Location Inaccuracy

I have Windows 10 computers (both clean installs in the past 5 mos.). Hell, one of them is a brand new computer purchased 4 mo. ago for work only. Now both of these computers, have problems with accurately reporting GPS location.

Both give my location as the same place, 1,500 miles away!

I've gone through resetting defaults, allowing Windows to manage my time zone and every other variation of adjusting Windows settings in a failed attempt to fix the problem. I've tried different DNS servers, even.

This is a Windows problem! (Chrome/Google Maps reports an accurate location and querying based upon IP address reports a local condition accurately.

    Are there any answers?

P.S. As much as I like to think my hardware is cutting edge, it's no quantum computer and I'm pretty sure it can't exist in two states simultaneously. (Insert rim shot)

    :)

  3. Unable to turn on Location in Windows 10

    Hello,

We regret the inconvenience. Let me assist you.

Before we proceed further, let us know a few more details on the below questions.

    • Did you make any changes to the computer prior to the issue? Is it an abrupt issue?

    • Do have any System Restore point set in Windows prior to the issue?

    • Did you check if the same issue occurs when you log in to Windows using a different Local Administrator user account?

As an initial recommendation, I suggest you to follow the steps to try and fix the issue:

    Step 1:

Follow the steps to change the region:

    a) Type “Region” on the Search and click on
Change your country or region option from the search results.

    b) Now choose the location from the drop down menu to change the region. (As per your location)

    Change Location settings

    e) Click on Apply.

    Proceed to the next step.

    Step 3:

If you are trying to use location settings for an app, I would suggest you to turn ON the settings to allow apps to use the location on the computer.

    Follow the steps:

    a) Type
    l
    ocation on the Search.

    b) Click on
    Location privacy settings

I think I'll put a list of people's favourite apps in the OP, starting with my own until I get some suggestions, but you can take a look at the Windows Phone app store at the top apps to see what's popular http://www.windowsphone.com/en-us/store

You are both now added, welcome! *Toast :toast:
