Windows 7 Major Flaw

Thanks folks.. i'll give TeraCopy a try.. I didn't even know there was a 3rd party move/copy app to replace windows default app.

mikek75, To me it is a major flaw because this same issue has popped up for years in windows and tons of people like to dote over win 7 being so perfect, and all the bugs from previous systems were fixed.. if not a major flaw then a major oversight on Microsoft's part.

Many 3rd party apps are way better than windows default.. I wonder why MS doesn't get a clue and redesign all their stuff.

I have used Rollback RX and Comodo Time Machine to replace windows system restore, we can all think of better than Windows Defender, and now TeraCopy solves problems of windows move/copy app. I have used windows explorer replacements too.

You know.. someone should start a " better than Windows 3rd party app replacement thread "and list all the great stuff that's out there.

 

Apps I purchaceneeded on both Windows Phone and Windows platforms

As a middle-aged individual who has just gone back to college to get another degree to switch careers, it is extremely important to me for some apps to be available on both my Windows Phone 8 (soon to be 8.1 hopefully) and my Windows Surface Pro 8.1.

• When I access the Microsoft Marketplace from both my Windows Phone and my Surface Pro I need to be able to tell what platforms the app is available for.
  • I don't have time to search for the app from both platforms
  • I need to be able to pay for/acquire the app for both platforms from one place
  • This information needs to be highlighted, easily visible at the front of the app page rather than having to swipe and dig down into a "more" dialogue or swiping deeper into the app description or swiping left into the end of the app page.
• I need to be able to tell if the app is available for more than one of the platforms and if it will it share data with anything (the other platform, etc.)

Examples

• There are several apps to help prep for the professional certification test I will be required to take. I need to be able to access that app from both devices and be able to see my progress from one app platform on the other app platform.
• I make note cards, or as I call them, flip cards, that have a term on one side and definition on the other. I need to be able to:
  • see on my Windows Phone if the flash card app is available for my Surface Pro and
    
  • If when I download it on my Surface Pro the cards I make on my Windows Phone will be available on my Surface
• 
  I also want to be able to know if the information I create on my Windows Phone or Surface Pro is sharable with other people
  

These concepts are not just vital for me as a student, they are vital for me as a professional content creator.

*** I WILL be cross posting this to the Windows Phone side as well to prevent the normal, traditional Pass-the-buck-to-the-other-team-so-we-don't-have-to-deal-with-this syndrome so
many of the Windows and Windows Phone teams seen too give been infected with.

***** I am being required to select a WP Model to post this... I need this information and functionality regardless of Windows Phone model. I have the unfortunate T-Mobile version of the HTC 8X That T-Mobile has refused to support through EOL as well as
the Nokia 602. Hopefully soon I will have an Icon, or better yet, something announced at Build... I need to meet Cortana! (PS, the built-in Spell check turns Cortana into Fortuna)
