Windows 10: Windows asks for code, bit code is not sent

On my sons laptop, I've installed my account. Now I want to log in on my account, Windows tells me a code is sent to my Outlook email. No code is received. Not in spam, nowhere. It's so stupid I can't even login into a laptop. I have access to my email on my phone. But sending a code to my Outlook is NOT a security option im my Microsoft settings. I can receive a code on my Gmail account but it's not selectable. I can't choose any other options. Omg...

Not able to receive confirmation codes sent to me

Hi! Lately, I don't seem to be able to receive confirmation codes that are sent to my email addresses, so that I can logon to their sites. This recently happened several times when tracfone tried to send me codes. And today - it happened when I tried to logon to the Melaleuca site, which requires confirmation by code, too. I have read online instructions on how to fix the problem, but I can't see how any of their suggestions could help fix the problem. I absolutely never block texts from unknown numbers, so that that doesn't apply to me. I absolutely never receive codes in my junk folders. I always type my email address and phone correctly - so it's a waste of tim to remind me to do so. I absolutely never use airplane mode - plus all of our phones and computers are able to get online fine. So I don't see how someone's suggestion to turn it off and thn back on can help anything. So what else can you suggest I try? Should I reinstall my operating system (Windows 10) and start all over - would that help? Thanks!

If the 4 digit is correct, then the code is sent to the right place.

You may not register your phone to your account as an alias, but when you first register, it should ask for an alternative for either another email or phone number, that is for security contact, solely for the purpose of receiving code.

Occasionaly issue can happen between carriers, but those issues are short lived.

Otherwise, on the page where it asks for code, you should have an option to click on that is about you not getting the code, and it should walk you through some steps to add another security contact information.
